This notice explains how personal data is handled on Firmoscan. Contact for any privacy question or request: hello@firmoscan.com.
1. Register data about people
Company pages show the names of people with significant control and, where available, officers, with the nature of their control and relevant dates, as published on the public Companies House register. We never publish dates of birth, day of birth or home addresses. We re-publish this information because company transparency serves a legitimate interest: people checking a company before dealing with it need to know who owns and runs it (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Our source is Companies House; information Companies House removes or suppresses is removed here when our copy is refreshed, or sooner on request.
2. Visitor statistics without cookies
We count page views, searches and button clicks with our own log, which records the page, time, referring site, device type and search term, and no IP address, cookie, identifier or fingerprint. It cannot identify you.
3. Google Analytics (only if you accept)
If you choose Accept in the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to measure how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate location to city level, device). Google signals and advertising features are off. Nothing is sent to Google before you accept. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page.
4. Emails you give us
If you ask for deadline reminders, to watch a company, to claim a company page, or to be told when a company's product and service list is ready, we keep your email address and the company number to provide that service, and nothing else. We do not sell or share it for marketing. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.
If you answer the optional “Anything specific you were looking for?” question, we keep the text you type (without any email addresses or phone numbers, which are removed automatically) to decide what to build. It is not linked to you and is never published.
5. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase personal data about you, or object to its publication, by emailing hello@firmoscan.com. We reply within one month and act on corrections within one working day of verifying them. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
6. Retention and processors
Register data is kept while it remains on the public register. Emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the United States, under Microsoft's standard data-protection terms for international transfers; Google processes analytics data only with your consent.
